Inspired by a sale this weekend at a shop called Lark in Daylesford, I suggested to my son last night, that we should leave the neighbourhood and go for a Saturday drive.
I was surprised to discover that he was fully dressed and ready to go when he woke me up at 6.45am. It all seemed a little bit exciting, to be escaping from our normal Saturday routine. We set off with a thermos of Milo, our iPods and a happy vibe. We had a bit of fun on the way listening to music and wound down the windows as we drove through the Wombat State Forest, so we could smell the eucalypts.
The sale had already been going for an hour when we arrived, but we still managed to find a few bargain Christmas presents. We had a wander around town, went to a craft market and had a good time fossicking in secondhand bookshops.
Then we droved back to suburbia for an afternoon basketball game.
